Identifying SEN in the Early Years

Helen Curran is a senior lecturer in SEN at Bath Spa University. Previously to this role Helen has worked as a primary teacher, SENCO and Local Authority Advisor. Helen’s work focuses on the implementation of policy in practice, particularly from the perspective of the SENCO @drhelcurran
This session shares the findings from a recent nasen research project which explored the identification of SEN in the early years, from the perspective of the SENCO. Enablers and barriers are discussed, and good practice considered. Implications for future practice are shared, with a view to developing partnership working.
