SEND Casework Masterclass – Understanding NHS England and the 10 Year Plan will provide previous, current and completed candidates and assessors with an in depth training workshop that will focus on NHS structures and organisational arrangements including initiatives and priorities.

Content:           

  • Overview of NHS structures and organisational arrangements including current initiatives and priorities
  • Aims and implications of the 10 year plan e.g. Transforming Care/Autism/ Mental health including information sharing – issues and resolutions
  • Specific focus areas e.g.:
    • personalisation and personal health budgets
    • learning disabilities and autism
    • community mental health
    • sensory work
    • children and young people policy

 

Aims: 

  • To provide additional professional development opportunities for those working in the area of SEND casework
  • To provide a more in depth focus (a deep dive) on an area relevant to the work of SEND casework officers
  • To increase knowledge and understanding beyond that covered during Level 3 and 4 of the SEND casework award
  • To provide an opportunity for officers to engage in professional discussion  and debate with colleagues from a range of local authorities about how the issues raised have an impact on current work and might make a difference to future work

Anyone who works in SEND casework coordination and management including:

  • Local authority officers who have completed the SEND casework award
  • SEND casework award assessors (current and previous)
  • Current candidates
  • SEN team managers
