Role of the key person in relation to children with SEND

Webcast - 19 December 2017

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requires that every child must be assigned a key person. Their role is to help ensure that every child’s care is tailored to meet their individual needs and to help the child become familiar with the setting, offer a settled relationship for the child and build a relationship with their parents. Providers must inform parents or carers of the name of the key person and explain their role. This role is especially important for any child with SEND. Available for free, however to access the resource you must be a nasen member. Bronze membership is free but you might find it more beneficial to become a silver or gold member.
