Safeguarding resources from NSPCC Learning
The NSPCC Learning arm of the charity has produced an online safeguarding programme for primary schools called Speak out Stay safe. The programme features the mascot Buddy the speech bubble to support pupils to know they have the right to speak out and be heard, be safe and get help when they need it. The assemblies produced as part of the programme feature Ant and Dec and have versions with BSL and adapted versions for children with SEND.
The programme aims to help children understand:
- abuse in all its forms and how to recognise signs of abuse
- that abuse is never a child’s fault and that they have the right to be safe
- where to get help and the sources of help available to them, including our Childline service.
