Unique Performing Arts based Certificate in Higher Education

A brand new course for adults with a learning disability or autism has been launched by Mind the Gap in York. The three-year course includes classic and contemporary theatre, dance techniques, music production, and music composition. Students will learn dance choreography skills, explore physical theatre, develop skills in devising theatre and participate in workshops led by arts industry professionals. The course is accredited by York St John University and students will gain a Certificate in Higher Education (Level 4), the same standard as the first year of a University degree.

The fantastic team at Mind the Gap have hopefully paved the way for further education settings to broaden their offers to meet the interests of the student population who are not currently provided with many routes to continue their educational journey.
