Grants for recreational trips or holidays for disabled or disadvantaged children
The Henry Smith Charity has just released the next set of grants for 2022 to provide access to recreational trips or holidays for groups of children who experience disadvantage or who have disabilities.
They are particularly interested in contributing to trips that would not take place without their funding. Grants from anywhere between £500 to £2500 are available for settings including schools. The grants are available in the UK only with priority to the areas with the highest level of disadvantage.
The grants are made on a first come first served basis until the available funding for that round has been fully allocated. You must apply at least six weeks before your trip or holiday is due to take place.
This round of funding opened is available for trips between 4th April and 3rd July. Additional funding applications are shown in the funding guidelines.
Given the extraordinary impact of Covid-19 the charity will consider trips which are more local but have an emphasis on providing a new experience for the children and broadening their horizons. Examples include camping, trips to adventure activity centres or the seaside.
