Mental Health Calendar with Free Resources and Free Webinar
The Anna Freud Mental Health Centre has produced a mental health calendar for the autumn term of the new academic year, starting this week for most schools and colleges. The calendar features dates, activity suggestions and free resources for events including:
- the return to school
- transition to secondary school
- Black History Month
- World Mental Health Day
- International Stress Awareness Week
- Anti-bullying Week
The centre are highlighting attendance in its first free seminar of the year exploring the topic of emotionally-based school avoidance. The learning outcomes of this seminar are:
- to increase understanding of the term ‘emotionally-based school avoidance’ (EBSA)
- to summarise the current national picture for school-aged children
- to explore the role of schools in supporting those affected
- to be informed of further development opportunities and resources on EBSA
- to understand the importance of working with parent and carers in the best way to help CYP who are experiencing emotionally based school avoidance
The seminar is on 29th September from 4:30-6pm and accessed online via Zoom. The seminar is a pre-cursor to a set of resources aimed at supporting those with EBSA.
