‘Time to Talk’ about mental health
Time to Talk Day is taking place on Thursday 3rd February and is the day that Mind and Rethink Mental Illness want friends, families, communities and workplaces to come together to talk, listen and change lives.
The pandemic brought greater awareness of the difficulties many of us experience with our mental health and exacerbated existing difficulties that people were struggling, often in silence, with. In schools the constant uncertainty and the challenges around Covid for pupils, staff and parents and carers has compounded existing struggles. Within this context there has never been a more importance around needing to ensure there is a ‘Time to Talk’. There are resources to download and display around your school to identify events you are holding and raise the profile of the importance of talking about mental health. There is also a schools pack of activities and ideas to support your planning for students and a workplace pack with ideas to use with staff.
