Twilight Talks: Unlocking Digital Reading for Every Young Person with DAISY and Dolphin
- Online
- 13 May 2025 (16:00 - 17:00)
Digital Reading has a profound impact education and wellbeing.
While lots of children and young people can benefit from the flexibility that digital reading offers, it is particularly important for anyone who experiences barriers to reading text in a print-based format. This includes young people who are dyslexic, vision impaired, or have other educational needs including ADHD and autism.
This webinar focusses on the practical ways to enable young people with special educational needs to read and learn in a way that meets their individual needs. Richard Orme of the DAISY Consortium and Simon Kitchen of Dolphin Computer Access will explore:
• Research highlighting the benefits of digital reading for children and young people with SEND and learning differences
• What to read: a range of sources of digital content for reading for learning and leisure
• Ways to read: unlocking accessibility across a range of digital reading tools at school and home
