These 90-minute regional webinars will support schools and professionals to effectively deliver the new statutory Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE) for pupils with SEND. 

Who is it for?
These webinars are ideal for PSHE leads, SENCOs, SLT and those with a responsibility for supporting the roll-out of the RSHE curriculum. Colleagues from both mainstream and special or alternative provision settings are welcome to attend, and each region will have a primary focused and a secondary focused webinar.

You will benefit from:

  • increased understanding of the new curriculum requirements for statutory Relationships (and Sex Education) and Health Education
  • greater confidence in making this learning accessible for pupils with SEND
  • resources to disseminate and support delivery with a focus on pupils with SEND
  • dedicated time for discussion with colleagues in your region

Who is running the training?
The Department for Education has funded nasen and the PSHE Association to work in partnership to design and deliver this training.
nasen are the National Association for Special Educational Needs, a charitable membership organisation that exists to support and champion those working with, and for, children and young people with SEND and learning differences.
The PSHE Association is the national body for PSHE education. A charity and membership organisation, the Association supports over 50,000 PSHE professionals with training, resources, guidance and advice.

How do I book?
Space at each webinar is limited to enable successful networking, so places will book up fast. In order for local networking to be facilitated it would be preferred if you book the dates for your local authority and your education stage.

Meet your trainer

Jenny Fox

Senior Subject Specialists at the PSHE Association

Jenny taught PSHE education since qualifying as a teacher in 2009 and was the Team Leader for PSHE education and Citizenship in two London schools. She has also completed a Masters in Teaching and Learning. Now, as the Senior Subject Specialist at the PSHE Association, Jenny works closely with the Principal Subject Specialist to lead the Subject Specialist team. This role includes overseeing and contributing to the work of the team; writing guidance documents and teaching resources, providing training, advice and support to PSHE leads and teachers, and quality assuring PSHE education resources.

Zoe Mather

Zoe began her career on the Graduate Teaching Programme in 2000 as a secondary maths teacher. She then furthered her practice across several secondary schools holding roles including outreach and SENCO. Her most recent post before joining nasen, was as Assessment and Achievement Lead as part of the SLT of an autism-specific all-through special school.
