Specialist National Reference Group - Twilight Session 2
- Online
- 23 Apr 2026 (16:00 - 17:00)
Calling out to School Leaders and Senior School Staff, from all schools from any sector. Your voice matters!
Following The Specialist National Reference Group in person events, nasen would like to invite you to join us to discuss the proposed SEND reforms and contribute to our response to the open consultation.
We are holding two online twilight events which are open to all of those interested in joining our team in a discussion around the key aspects in the document ‘Putting Children and Young people First’.
The session will include a general discussion with the chance to join into a breakout discussion on a specific area of the reforms. The individual topics will include the following:
- Individual support plans and the three layers of support
- Experts at Hands and the pooling of funding
- Inclusion Bases
- Specialist support packages
The events will be held on zoom. When booking please indicate which breakout room you would like to attend.
The aims of the workshops are:
- To become familiar with the main implications contained within the School’s White paper (with reference to SEND)
- To discuss these proposals, with other stakeholders, and offer an informed response to the consultation
- Ensure that present best practice is communicated to key officials to inform future policy decisions/direction
Members of the NRG and a number of co-authors of NRG paper will help facilitate the discussions.
Not a member? Email membership@nasen.org.uk to book your place.
We expect demand to be very high so places will be strictly on a first come first served basis. We welcome contributions from senior staff in all state and independent schools.
