nasen begins search for new CEO
Following a period of unparalleled growth, nasen (the National Association for Special Educational Needs) – the leading charity that exists to support and champion those working with, and for, children and young people with SEND and learning differences – is seeking a new CEO.
Professor Adam Boddison who has been our CEO at nasen for the last six years, is stepping down to take on a new CEO role at education charity, Association for Project Management, the chartered body for the project profession.
nasen’s Board of Trustees has appointed Saxton Bamfylde to exclusively manage the search for a new Chief Executive at an exciting time in our organisation’s development. We have seen significant UK and international growth by broadening our support for the sector with new services and resources. Recent developments include offering a wide range of information, support and resources to all individuals in the UK via our free nasen membership, which has now grown to a 30,000-strong community.
Professor Adam Boddison, who will remain in post until 31st August 2021, said: “It has been an absolute privilege to lead nasen’s important work in the education and SEND sector for almost six years, working with a dedicated and talented team that has collectively supported a radical transformation of the organisation that I joined in 2016.
“Building on its impressive 30-year history, nasen has recently launched its free membership offer, which has seen a record uptake in the community, both in terms of membership numbers and sector engagement. I am hugely confident that the work the team has done has put nasen on track for even greater things to come, including significant international growth. Although I am moving on from the SEND sector, the importance of this work remains something I am incredibly passionate about and I will continue to champion nasen and all it stands for.”
