Grants for Support of Service Children in Schools deadline approaching 8th May

The Armed Forces Education Trust Collective Grants programme provides valuable support to groups of schools working together to improve outcomes for children from service families. Rather than funding individual schools, the scheme focuses on collaborative projects that address shared challenges faced by pupils whose parents serve in the armed forces.

Service children often experience frequent moves, disrupted education, and periods of parental absence. The Collective Grants programme recognises these challenges and encourages schools to develop joint approaches that build stability, continuity, and wellbeing. Funding can be used for a range of initiatives, including staff training, curriculum development, transition support, and targeted pastoral care.

A key strength of the programme is its emphasis on partnership. By working together, schools can share expertise, pool resources, and create more consistent support systems for service children across different locations. This collaborative model also helps ensure that effective practices are sustained and scaled beyond a single setting.

Applications are closing on 8th May 2026 for our June 2026 decision meeting. Grants will then be awarded for a September 2026 start.
