Inclusive sport festival returns with expanded offer for disabled young people

Taking place on Sunday 5 July 2026 in Windsor Great Park, the event describes itself as a “festival of inclusivity”, offering challenge activities for all ages, health conditions and abilities.

The programme includes a range of distances to suit different participants, from 100 metres to 10km, alongside a flexible approach that removes pressure on completion times. The organisers emphasise participation over performance, with a “start together, finish whenever” ethos and no cut-off limits.

A key feature for SEND settings is the SuperSensory experience, designed specifically for neurodivergent participants and those with profound and multiple learning disabilities. The activity focuses on engaging the senses through structured challenges involving sound, touch, taste and smell.

Beyond physical activity, the event includes a broad offer of enrichment experiences, such as:

  • arts and crafts
  • storytelling and music
  • inclusive sport activities
  • sensory zones and quiet spaces

Accessibility is a central focus, with features including accessible changing facilities, on-site parking, medical support and a welcoming approach to assistance animals. Organisers also highlight the importance of community, working with organisations that champion disability inclusion.

For schools and colleges, Parallel Windsor presents a potential opportunity to support inclusive sport, preparation for adulthood, and enrichment for learners with SEND. Virtual participation options are also available, enabling settings to engage without travelling.

Registration is now open, with further details available via the event website.
