This webinar recording is suitable for all school staff who want to build their understanding of the core principles of Universal Design for Learning. It will look at how to plan for the natural variability that will be present in all pupils in all classrooms, how to build flexibility into lessons and the way we teach from the outset in order to reduce the need to retrofitting initial differentiation.

What will this course cover?

  • An overview of the UDL framework that explores meeting the learning needs of all pupils
  • Understanding learning goals from a UDL perspective, separating the means from the ends
  • Identifying pupils’ strengths and needs and using this to drive improvements in the learning environment

What are the potential benefits to you and the children or young people you work with?

  • You will have a better understanding of how to make learning more accessible for all pupils
  • You will have a practical framework to guide lesson designs to make them more inclusive for all pupils
  • You will be able to broaden the universal support that is offered to all pupils, including those with SEND
