Session Synopsis
Disabled children and young people have been severely impacted during the global pandemic. They are twice as likely as non-disabled children to be lonely and are less likely to be active at a park, leisure centre or friends house.
The session will explore these issues and attendees will gain access to a range of fully inclusive CPD/resources/training - all freely available for practitioners to draw upon and access including the newly launched Active Recovery Hub - a suite of over 350 resources designed to help children and young people boost their health and wellbeing following COVID-19. Attendees will also hear about an exciting new concept- Sport
Sanctuaries, and see visual examples of practice of how schools have created sanctuaries using sport to directly support their pupils adjust to school life during COVID.
Session audience: Relevant for all – education settings and professionals, families, people with lived experience and wider stakeholders etc.
This resource was first published in October 2021 and was last reviewed in October 2023.
