Supporting SEN- Vocabulary

This resource is designed to support all teaching staff in understanding what vocabulary is, why it is crucial to learning, what the ‘word gap’ is and what can be implemented in schools within the three different tiers of provision to begin to close it.

The benefits of using this resource is the variety of ideas gained for awareness of the importance of widening vocabulary in all tiers of provision.

This resource was first published in May 2020, it was last reviewed in October 2023.
