In the South East, we want to work in partnership with all stakeholders to ensure that SEND is seen as part of the wider school improvement agenda and not an add on.
The Regional SEND Leadership team in the North East work to promote and celebrate the effective and exciting SEND practice across our region. The North East is a large geographic area with a huge amount of excellent practice and incredible SEN and SEND expertise already present and active within our schools and communities. Currently we are working to connect with and, where needed, develop professional networks to best support all schools in prioritising SEND within their practice.
Join our team of dedicated and ambitious individuals. We are a passionate workforce, who strive to support education professionals, so that they have the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives and outcomes of children and young people with SEND.
Our Trustees have full legal responsibility for nasen but delegate the day-to-day running of the organisation to the Chief Executive Officer and her Executive Leadership Team. The Board is made up of 13 Trustees, each with specialist skills and experience that underpin a streamlined committee structure. The three committees are the Remuneration Committee, the Finance, Risk and Audit Committee and the Strategy and People Committee.
We have an ongoing commitment to ensure expertise in SEND is available to every school and setting across the UK. It is critical that we break down the barriers that impact children and young people’s participation in education – particularly for those with SEND and learning differences. Our membership is free to all UK individuals*, so that we can work across early years, schools, further education and wider settings to help ensure that all education practitioners are given the information and support required so that all children and young people can thrive.
