nasen Supports Armed Forces Rugby League Cymru Cadet Cup and Remembrance Event

nasen proudly supported this year’s inaugural Armed Forces Rugby League (AFRL) Cadet Cup, providing team strips and medals for all participating cadet teams as part of the annual Remembrance Day event. The occasion celebrated sporting achievement while honoring the importance of service and community.

Representing the charity, Richard Oliver, Trustee of nasen, attended the event and laid a wreath during the official Remembrance ceremony.
“It was a privilege to stand with the cadets and wider community on such an important day,” said Alison Pexton, Head of Development & Fundraising. “Supporting the first AFRL Cadet Cup aligns with our mission to champion young people’s development, inclusion, and opportunities for all, including those with SEND. We were proud to sponsor the event and see every cadet celebrated for their achievements.”

The AFRL Cymru event organiser added:
“To have nasen involved this year, and in the very first Cadet Cup, has been both rewarding and insightful. Rewarding because the teams were dressed in smart, impressive kits, and because we’ve connected with a new organisation—one that is now part of our community. Insightful because nasen helped us broaden our understanding of children’s needs. Those needs can often be hidden, and importantly, all children have the potential to succeed given the right support and motivation. They have inspired us.”

The AFRL Cadet Cup combines sport, leadership, and civic engagement, fostering teamwork, confidence, and inclusion. nasen’s sponsorship reflects its commitment to ensuring that young people of all abilities have the chance to participate, succeed, and contribute to their communities.
