New special schools/SEND pathway launched by National Literacy Trust
The National Literacy Trust believes that every child and young person has the right to be a reader. For pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), and particularly those in special schools and specialist provision, that right depends on the adults around them: on the books they can reach, the formats those books come in, the ways they are able to respond, and the belief that reading for pleasure belongs to them too.
The new resources have been gathered with, and contributed to by specialist practitioners, including Dr Sarah Moseley, Chantal Bryan OBE, Claire Harrison and Alison Szalay to support all those working with children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
