This FREE to access training is for Early Years practitioners in family hub local areas.
The training session will provide practitioners with a thorough understanding of inclusive practice for SEND in Early Years settings, including:
- Responsibilities of a setting towards children with SEND
- The role of the SENCO and the Key Person in PVI settings
- The importance of the early identification of SEND
- What effective inclusive practice looks like
- How to develop positive relationships with parents and carers of children with SEND
- nasen’s free Early Years resources to support you in meeting the needs of all children in your setting

Meet your trainer
Anna Speke
Anna changed career to retrain as a teacher in 2012, quickly developing a particular passion for supporting children with SEND and their families.
Working as a SENCO and SEND Lead in several primary schools across the West Midlands, Anna gained experience across local-authority-maintained schools and within multi-academy trusts. Before joining nasen, Anna led a Communication and Interaction hub provision, working between specialist and mainstream settings to ensure inclusion and support for children with a range of additional needs.
Anna leads on nasen’s Early Years work, and she is passionate about giving children the best possible start in life. She also has a particular interest in animal assisted therapies, outdoor learning and Forest School.
