This series of five webinars introduces concepts of inclusion, including Universal Design for Learning, and provides further understanding of key areas of SEN for primary schools to support learning within the maths classroom. Areas of the maths curriculum are explored and key commonalities to support learning for those with SEN are exemplified with practical classroom approaches.
Each session begins with a look at an area of inclusive practice with some having a particular focus on a particular need. The latter stages look at maths practice reflecting on the implications for inclusion.
This session focuses on developing literacy opportunities for pupils with SEND and how to identify opportunities to make maths relevant, meaningful and part of development of metacognitive skills.
