A Level Lessons: supporting dyslexic learners through their A Levels

Kristina Symons, Head of Learning Support, shares some top tips for supporting dyslexic learners through their A Level courses; these students can face particular challenges with the higher order skills these courses require. This article originally appeared in 'SecEd' in May 2016 and in 'Special' in November 2016.

Research has shown that dyslexic learners with high academic ability are most likely to display learning difficulties for the first time when working at an advanced level. This article discusses some of these challenges and how they might present in the classroom, and goes on to detail ten strategies for supporting dyslexic learners in Key Stage
