As of today, the Department for Education has included additional resources to support secondary schools to roll out rapid testing. These resources are to further enhance the information that was provided in the Schools and colleges testing handbook. As well as the specific guidance on mass asymptomatic testing in specialist settings that was published on 31st December 2020.

The new resources include:

  2. ‘How to’ guide – this guide will be updated to include information on the test registration process
  3. ‘How to’ video – this video accompanies the ‘how to’ guide and provides a simple walk through of the end-to-end process to help you understand how testing will look and feel
  4. Site signage – print friendly signage that you may wish to display around your test site
  5. Consent form template – for schools to issue to parents and carers to provide their consent for their child (under 16) to participate in testing and how to register on the NHS digital solution
  6. A privacy notice for schools – this document is for schools and explains what information the Department for Education needs from schools and how we will use any information provided
  7. A privacy notice for parents – for schools to issue to parents and carers that explains how information will be stored and used
  8. Legal agreement and standard operating procedure – a cover note will be provided to summarise these documents
