New episode of youth-led podcast “Our Turn to Talk”
“Our Turn to Talk” is the National Children’s Bureau’s (NCB) youth-led podcast programme. All episodes are developed and directed by young people and focus on topics that are important to them.
In their seventh episode, young people working with NCB in a variety of roles explore their experiences during the Covid-19 pandemic and how this has continued to impact them today. Bethan, a young trustee, Eden, a member of the Northern Ireland Anti-Bullying Forum, Lotte, a Young Research Advisor, and Jacob, a member of FLARE, participate in a group discussion and reflect on their personal experiences.
Navigating life during and post pandemic explores:
- The impact of school closures on young people’s experiences of education
- Young people’s mental health and positive self-care strategies they have developed
- The effect on local communities, access to services, and what improvements could be made
- Key takeaways from their experiences.
