nasen and Nisai Announce Strategic Partnership Ahead of Key Government Reforms to SEND

As the Government prepares to publish its Schools White Paper this Autumn, two leading voices in the SEND sector – nasen and Nisai Learning – have announced a new two-year partnership aimed at promoting a shared, positive vision for the future of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) policy in England.

The partnership brings together nasen’s expertise as the UK’s leading SEND membership charity with Nisai’s global reputation for delivering inclusive and flexible online education. Together, they aim to ensure that the voices of young people, parents, and professionals are heard in shaping policy that creates equity and opportunity for every learner.

The scale of demand on the SEND system continues to grow, placing immense pressure on schools, professionals and local authorities. While reform is welcomed, there is concern across the sector that change must strengthen – not reduce – the support available to children and families.

Dhruv Patel, the Founder and CEO of Nisai Learning said:
“As the Government continues to consider what it wants the future of SEND to look like , it is absolutely vital that expert organisations come together to help the Department for Education put forward a positive approach to reform that takes the needs of every learner into account.
We need to ensure that the Government hears from the top practitioners who work directly with children with SEND. That’s why I am delighted to be partnering with nasen, the leading voice for SEND professionals, to promote their expertise.”

Annamarie Hassell MBE, Chief Executive of nasen, welcomed the partnership, saying:
“Dhruv and his Nisai team are on a road for the betterment of the SEND sector and the opportunities to develop life skills that gives the individual a good chance at success. I am pleased that Nisai has chosen to work with nasen and I look forward to seeing the benefits for the SEND sector flourish from our partnership”.

This timely collaboration will see both organisations advocate for inclusive reform, amplify practitioner voices, and provide evidence-based insight to policymakers. By working together, nasen and Nisai hope to influence a system where all children and young people can thrive.
