Accredited Early Years SENCO Award

This DfE funded award, run by nasen and developed by School Improvement Liverpool, is a 12.5 day course, which runs over a 3-4 month period. After undertaking a series of online written tasks and an observation in the setting, attendees are awarded a Level 3 Early Years SENCO Award, which is accredited by CACHE. Participants must be Early Years SENCOs currently working in PVI settings or childminders within the Local Authority.

500 Early Years SENCOs and Childminders from 23 Local Authorities

 So far, nasen have trained over 500 Early Years SENCOs and childminders from 23 Local Authorities across the country. Cohort 3 of the project is currently being delivered online due to the COVID pandemic in 12 further Local Authorities. These are:

Cornwall, Herefordshire, Hampshire, Suffolk, Reading, Telford and Wrekin, Knowsley, Blackburn, Gateshead, Peterborough, East Sussex and Cumbria where another 288 Early Years SENCOs are expected to achieve the award. If you are an Early Years SENCO or childminder in these Local Authorities, please contact your Area SENCO/Early Years Lead who will be able to give you information about the next planned cohort of the training and any costs involved.
