nasen is proud to announce a new strategic partnership with the Careers & Enterprise Company (CEC) to create a free CPD course designed to boost access to careers learning and enhance outcomes for young people with SEND. The course named Raising Aspirations: Engaging Parents to Empower SEND Futures is live on the CEC academy website, registration and the course are free.

Launched in September 2025, the CPD course, written by nasen and co-produced with CEC, will be hosted on CEC’s sector-leading platform. Designed for SENCOs and SEND teams, the training provides practical strategies to build strong, collaborative relationships with parents and carers around next steps and careers.

The course is supported by an accompanying guide offering further tools to help educators maximise the benefits of this complimentary training.

To give a taster of the course below is a recording of the 30-minute introductory live webinar. The webinar offers an overview of the training content and how it supports you to develop that preparation for adulthood from the earliest years - all completely free.

This CPD opportunity is part of a wider initiative to raise aspirations, build sustainable partnerships, and support confident transitions into adulthood for young people with SEND. By empowering professionals to engage parents and carers in meaningful careers conversations, the course supports a whole-community approach to positive outcomes for every young person with SEND.

Together with CEC and The Gatsby Foundation who have funded the project, we’re proud to support an inclusive future for all young people.

Suitable for: Governor, Inclusion Manager/Leader, SENCO
