Curriculum and Assessment Review – time is running out to respond!
One of the Labour party’s manifesto pledges was a review of the national curriculum. The Curriculum and Assessment review was launched in October with a closing date of the 22 November.
The national curriculum in its present form was published in September 2013 and sets out the requirements for the curriculum in primary and secondary schools, though academies and private schools are not required to follow it. In recognition of the pressure schools and colleges are already under, and the further strain that wholesale reform can bring, the review will seek ‘evolution not revolution’ and will be alive to the trade-offs required to deliver high and rising standards alongside greater breadth.
An easy read version can be downloaded and shared with learners from the review website.
nasen will contribute to the review and as such, we are keen to hear from members to inform this response. You can either attend an online session to share your experiences and evidence of what works best for learners with SEND or complete an online survey.
