Updated Coronavirus guidance for schools
On Bank Holiday Monday, 5th April 2021, the government issued updated guidance for schools. Some of the main changes are:
- Face coverings to continue to be worn by staff and students in secondary settings, those who are able to do so, in communal areas and classrooms
- Primary staff to wear face coverings in areas that social distancing between adults cannot be maintained
- All Clinically Extremely Vulnerable (CEV) pupils should return to settings after the Easter break
- Staff who are CEV will be advised to work from home where possible, but should attend their workplace if this is not possible
- Respite care can continue to operate
- Lateral flow tests will continue twice-weekly for staff in all settings and pupils of secondary school age
- Ofsted will resume onsite inspections for schools under the EIF from 4th May though secondary schools will not be included until 21st June to allow for the teacher-assessed grades processes to be completed
