Summary of nasen’s response to the SEND Review
The SEND and alternative provision green paper was published at the end of March, and outlined the government’s proposals for a system that offers children and young people access to the right support, in the right place, and at the right time in order that they fulfil their potential and go on to lead happy, healthy and productive adult lives.
As champion, friend, and protector of more than 65,000 members who are committed to serving the best interests of children and young people with SEND and learning differences, nasen carried out a series of focus groups, surveys and workshops to listen, capture and make sure that the voice of the sector was reflected within our organisational response.
Although we responded to all 22 questions, here, we’ve distilled the parts that nasen – and our members – felt most strongly about. This is a summary of our key points and focused responses.
